ISA MA
NEW MUSIC OUT NOW
So excited to let you know the “Animal Heart” album is complete! These songs are so dear to me as they talk about very personal experiences I have been through, and experiences I have been able to witness in my close relationships. “Hiding” came from a place where I was doing just that - hiding parts of myself out of fear. It invites us to look at who we really are. “Woman” calls us into our individual and collective power. “Tell Me, Was it Love?” explores Divine Mother taking form as all that is for the sake of experiencing love. “North” reminds me that my inner compass is always there and will lead me well, even when it takes a minute to find. “Wave” is about the nature of this existence. “All this Light” is about the mystery of life. “Liberty” is a freedom song, a song of hope and love. And this leads me to “Mirrors,” which is probably my favorite song on here. “Mirrors” is about the idea that we don’t see everything as it is, we see it as we are. This song invites us to lay those projections down in order to explore more thoroughly all of the places we can see the face of love - in lovers, food, our children - the mundane and captivating. And most importantly - ourselves.
It feels like a big exhale to finally have all of this music out in the world. My dear friend Stephen Proctor put some beautiful imagery to “Wave” and “North.” So wonderful to collaborate with him and share his captivating work. Thank you all so much for listening, it is an honor to share this music with you. I hope you enjoy!
